Since everyone is stuck at home, the William Grant & Sons (WG&S) family opened a 1887 Virtual Bar, the distiller’s first-ever virtual bar, created in support of the local bartending scene amidst COVID-19.
Live Sessions
Charmaine Thio and Brett Bayly, the regional brand ambassadors of Hendrick’s Gin and Glenfiddich will be joined by different guest bartenders from your favourite watering holes every week. You'll be able to talk to your favourite bartenders and watch them make drinks live (just like in an actual bar!)The next session will be held via Zoom at 8pm on 22nd May with a guest shift by David Hans, Head Bartender and Co-founder of Three X Co. If you're into local made ingredients and oriental styles cocktail, don't miss this session with Asia's First Global Winner of Giffard West Cup 2017.
Serving Digital Cocktails
You'll also be able to purchase a digital cocktail from that week's bar at https://www.ticketmelon.com/WGS/1887virtualbarMY. You can redeem your drink later once the bar reopens."We’re in this together, and we’re fully committed to supporting our local bar partners, which is why we’ll also match the public’s donations dollar for dollar. We hope the community in Malaysia will tune in and take part," said Satya Sharma, Managing Director for South East Asia, William Grant & Sons.
For every Ringgit contributed by the public, WG&S will also match the value, up to RM2,000 per bar, standing in solidarity with the local bartending community.
